Rich Broglio was a roller rink organist starting at the Lorain Arena (a former rink just about a mile east of Skate World). He then spent the majority of his career at Brookpark Skateland. Rich was an amazing organist, attracting many people from all walks of life and providing entertainment to thousands and thousands.
Rich lives in Lorain, Ohio and had his own restaurant in Lorain on Broadway near St. Joes called the Roman Room.
This tribute to Broglio, now retired, was also a reunion for the many skaters who called Brookpark Skateland their home rink. Devastated by a fire in September of 2018, Brookpark skaters migrated to where the music was playing. Mike Clemens, Rich's successor, came to Lorain Skate World to continue the music with Skate Worlds iconic Hammond X66. Together with Johnny Sharp and Bobby Freeman, the three felt a tribute to their mentor was in order. Additionally, our friend and organist Marty Dumic joined in the fun!
What a night it was! August 25th, 2019. 6-10PM. Johnny, Bobby, Mike and Marty will all be played live. Some of Rich's recordings were played as well. Over 400 people were in attendance.
